Don Draper might make it to the 1970s after all. After a protracted standoff, AMC, Lionsgate and Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner have reached an agreement for seasons five and six of the Emmy-winning drama.

Weiner, who will return as showrunner, has also signed a new long-term deal with Lionsgate. As a result of the negotiations, however, season five isn’t expected to air until next year.

“I want to thank all of our wonderful fans for their support,” Weiner said in a statement. “I also want to thank AMC and Lionsgate for agreeing to support the artistic freedom of myself, the cast and the crew so that we can continue to make the show exactly as we have from the beginning. I’m excited to get started on the next chapter of our story.”

“AMC’s original programming began with a mission to create bold storytelling of the highest quality, and Mad Men was the perfect expression of that commitment,” Charlie Collier, president of AMC, said in a statement. “We’ve been proud to support this show from the day we read Matt’s ground-breaking pilot script and have loved building it with Matt and Lionsgate into the cultural phenomenon it has become. For everyone involved in the show and its passionate fans, we are thrilled to announce that the series will continue on AMC under the exceptional vision of Matt Weiner.”

CINCINNATI — Ramon Hernandez hit a two-out, three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday, rallying the Cincinnati Reds to a 7-6 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers in an opening-day flashback to their NL Central title season.

The Brewers became the first team in 42 years to open the season with back-to-back homers when Rickie Weeks and Carlos Gomez connected off Edinson Volquez. Ryan Braun also had a solo shot, helping Milwaukee take a 6-3 lead to the ninth.

That's when the Reds reverted to their winning ways of 2010. Their first six wins last season came in their final at-bat, tying the major league record. Hernandez connected off closer John Axford.

The Reds trailed 6-3 when Axford – who set a Milwaukee rookie record with 24 saves last season – let it get away. Cincinnati loaded the bases with none out, but Axford fanned Jay Bruce and got Jonny Gomes to hit a sacrifice fly to deep center.
Story continues below

Hernandez hit an opposite-field homer into the Brewers' bullpen, setting off another hopping home-plate celebration like so many last season. The Reds tied for second-most wins in their final at-bat while taking the NL Central title.

The Brewers have designs on overtaking the NL Central champions after changing managers – Ron Roenicke took over for Ken Macha – and adding Zack Greinke and Shaun Marcum to their rotation. One game in, they're one game behind.

The 41-degree first pitch made for the second-coldest opener in Great American Ball Park's nine-year history, prompting the 42,398 fans to bundle in coats and blankets. Volquez warmed up wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.

Then, the Brewers got off to the majors' most sizzling start in decades.

Weeks extended his spring tear with his 22nd career leadoff homer. He led the Brewers with a .442 average and one homer during spring training. Fast starts are no surprise for him – Weeks hit a club-record eight leadoff homers last season.

When Gomez homered into the upper deck two pitches later, the Brewers became the first team in the majors to start a season with a pair of homers since Cincinnati's Pete Rose – who watched from a seat behind home plate on Thursday – and Bobby Tolan connected off Don Drysdale in 1969. Drysdale didn't allow another run in that one, winning 3-2.

Drew Stubbs and National League MVP Joey Votto hit solo homers, but the Reds went to their final at-bat before Hernandez ended it with his three-run shot, his fourth hit of the game.

NOTES: Logan Ondrusek got the victory with one inning in relief. ... The Reds are 65-69-1 on opening day, the Brewers 23-19-1. ... It was the second time the Brewers and Reds opened the season. The other was 2000, when Ken Griffey Jr. returned to his hometown team. The game was rained out as a 3-3 tie. ... The Reds played a tribute to former manager Sparky Anderson on the videoboard before the game. Anderson died in November. The Reds are wearing a "Sparky" patch on their right sleeves. His No. 10 was marked on the back of the mound. ... Rose spent time thumbing through the records section of a Reds media guide while sitting in his seat. He attends several games a season in his hometown. ... The Reds won for the first time in four season openers under manager Dusty Baker.

The St. Louis Rams are a team on the rise. New leadership in the front office and on the field, a super star running back and a fresh faced kid quarterback ready to lead them into the future all helped boost sagging television ratings by 66 percent. Clearly, people are interested in the Rams again.

But St. Louis is a baseball town first and foremost. The Rams are chiseling their way to making it a town big enough for two teams with a national stature (yes, I realize the Blues play there as well...and I love the Note, but...). Today is a holiday of sorts in our fair city. Hell, it's a holiday for half the Midwest, from Indiana to Arkansas to Oklahoma, where the St. Louis Cardinals inspire fanatical devotion.

The Rams may be part of the (once) mighty NFL, but even we Rams fans have to step aside for the Cardinals on opening day. After all, I got my start in this whole blogging business at a little site called Cardinals Diaspora. That work and the recommendation of the venerable lboros founder of Viva El Birdos, the premier Cardinals fan site and our SBN brother, who helped get me my start with this site and SBNation.

Rob Neyer is heading up SBN's baseball efforts now, so be sure to check out that site too.

I'll be yakking it up at Cards Diaspora for a little while this afternoon, so stop by and say howdy.

The Central Bank of Ireland says the nation's cash-strapped banks need another €24-billion ($34-billion U.S.) in coming months to ensure they won't collapse in the face of future crises.

Central Bank Governor Patrick Honohan is unveiling new stress tests on four Irish banks, a condition of Ireland's international bailout last November.

Various news outlets are reporting that the Ottawa Senators have signed the much-sought-after free agent college player Stephane Da Costa to a two-year entry-level contract. Da Costa was the top college free agent this season, with reports saying all 30 teams were interested in him, with as many as 13 making serious offers, but it would seem Ottawa put together the best package for the 21-year-old. Terms of the deal are not yet available

Da Costa had just completed his sophomore season in the NCAA for Merrimack College. He was courted even after his freshman season by NHL teams, but decided to return to Merrimack for a second year; now that he's signed a professional contract, returning to play won't be an option, so he will play with the Ottawa Senators or--if it's a two-way deal (which remains to be seen), perhaps the Binghamton Senators.

With Merrimack, Da Costa put up consistent numbers, with 45P in each of his two seasons. His biggest jump in production seems to be the year after he was draft-eligible (which might explain why he was never drafted) while with the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL, where he went from 37P to 67P from one season to the next.

Da Costa joins Bobby Butler and Jesse Winchester as undrafted college prospects courted by Bryan Murray to join the Senators. These moves continue to impress me: Deals that cost the Senators nothing (aside from the money, of course) and quickly re-stock the Senators' prospect ranks with mature and, perhaps, NHL-ready skaters to join the squad.

1976 Topps Cincinnati Reds Teams Set – Card #491 – Terry Crowley

Terry Crowley’s major league experience lasted through 15 seasons, 2 of which came in Cincinnati as a member of the Reds. And lucky for him, it came at the right time…

He spent the 1974 and 1975 seasons with the team, and served his role as utility outfielder well. Appearing in 150 games during that time, Crowley was primarily used in late innings, to give the starters a break when the game was pretty much decided.

He did play for the Reds during the 1975 World Series, and he earned a championship ring. Appearing in two games, he went 1-for-2 collecting a hit in Game 6 off of Red Sox hurler Luis Tiant.

Mozilla Firefox is a free and open source web browser descended from the Mozilla Application Suite and managed by Mozilla Corporation. As of February 2011, Firefox is the second most widely used browser with approximately 30% of worldwide usage share of web browsers.[9][10][11] The browser has had particular success in Germany and Poland, where it is the most popular browser with 60% usage [12] and 47% [13] respectively.

To display web pages, Firefox uses the Gecko layout engine, which implements most current web standards in addition to several features that are intended to anticipate likely additions to the standards.[14]

The latest Firefox features[15] include tabbed browsing, spell checking, incremental find, live bookmarking, a download manager, private browsing, location-aware browsing (also known as "geolocation") based exclusively on a Google service[16] and an integrated search system that uses Google by default in most localizations. Functions can be added through extensions, created by third-party developers,[17] of which there is a wide selection, a feature that has attracted many of Firefox's users.

Firefox runs on various operating systems including Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, FreeBSD, and many other platforms. Its current stable release is version 4.0, released on March 22, 2011.[18] Firefox's source code is tri-licensed under the GNU GPL, GNU LGPL, or Mozilla Public License.[19]

Former Formula 1 world champion Kimi Raikkonen will make a surprising move to NASCAR this year, the Finn joining the series with a new team.

According to the Turun Sanomat newspaper, Raikkonen - the 2007 world champion - will be racing with the new ICE1 Racing team in the Truck series before moving on to the Nationwide and Sprint Cup series.

He is expected to join the championship from this summer, although no dates are yet confirmed.

Raikkonen will be joining forces with Foster Gillett, who will be a major partner of the team, having worked with Richard Petty Motorsport in NASCAR last year.

Foster's family owned the Montreal Canadiens' NHL franchise and are also former co-owners of the Liverpool football club.

"I'm really looking forward to get there to familiarise to the world of NASCAR," Raikkonen was quoted as saying by Turun Sanomat.

"I have been following it for a long time. I know, it's a very tough and open top racing series. I just love the American spirit of racing. It feels just great to get involved with that. Obviously, it will be very challenging and great fun for me."

According to the newspaper, the negotiations about which car the ICE1 Racing team will run are about to be completed.

Raikkonen will continue to compete in the World Rally Championship this year, where he has a deal for eight events.

U.S. single family home prices fell for the seventh straight month in January, bringing prices to just above April 2009 lows, a closely watched survey said on Tuesday.
The S&P/Case-Shiller composite index of 20 metropolitan areas declined 0.2 percent in January from December on a seasonally adjusted basis where a Reuters poll of economists forecast a drop of 0.4 percent. Prices in the 20 cities have fallen 3.1 percent year-over-year compared to 3.2 percent expected.

"The housing market recession is not yet over," said David Blitzer, chairman of the index committee at S&P. "At most, we have seen all statistics bounce along their troughs; at worst, the feared double-dip recession may be materializing."

Eleven of the 20 cities fell to the lowest levels since home prices peaked in 2006 and 2007, while the overall index was just 1.1 percent above the April 2009 low, the report showed.

Unadjusted for seasonal impact, home prices fell 1.0 percent for the month. Only San Diego and Washington, D.C. showed annual price increases.

The Case-Shiller index lags data from the National Association of Realtors, which reported earlier this month U.S that the median U.S. home price had hit a nine year low in February as home sales volumes plunged 9.6 percent.

In a separate report, the realtors group on Monday said contracts for sales of previously owned U.S. homes rose 2.1 percent in February after two straight declines.

The pending contracts data leads existing home sales by a month or two and suggests some of the recent weakness was due to unusually severe winter weather.

Make It Or Break was back tonight on ABC Family. In the opening sequence, all I could think of was really??? Do we need vampires everywhere? Even on Make It Or Break It?

At least in this case, the vampires were just a part of Kaylie’s weird dream that she was describing in group therapy in rehab for her eating disorder.

That bizarre trick of trying to cash in on vampire popularity aside, here’s what’s new with the girls of Make It Or Break It:

Emily is on probation for stealing her brother’s pills. She had to wear an ankle tracker to go to a gymnastics exhibition. When it was revealed, she confessed what she had done and apologized for letting everyone down.

Lauren continued to be mad at her father for keeping her mother from her. She also threw herself at the new boy on the show. By the end, she had moved back in with her father.

Payson wants Sasha back and finds a possible love interest in the cute boy that Lauren was throwing herself at earlier in the show.

Kaylie is in rehab for her eating disorder and finds a friend in her roommate, who is a model. Her roommate promises to help her fake her way out of rehab, with the girls agreeing that they just need to be thin for their careers.

What did you think of the Make It Or Break It premiere?

WhyGo Italy is excited to announce a new Italian rail tool for booking train tickets in Italy.

See that search box at the top of this page? That’s a brand new booking tool WhyGo Italy is excited to bring to you. You’ll find it in lots of places around the site now, so when you’re looking for schedules and fares for train tickets in Italy it’ll be at your fingertips – and it comes with some pretty sweet perks, too.

You know how much I love train travel in Italy, and although you can certainly arrive in the country without a single train ticket and book your whole trip once you get there, there’s much to be said for booking train tickets ahead of time if you know what your itinerary is.

There have long been sites for booking tickets online, but none of them had access to the sometimes steeply-discounted tickets Trenitalia offered to people booking up to 60 days in advance on its official website. Of course, booking directly with Trenitalia has also long been a huge challenge for anyone who doesn’t have an Italian credit card.

This new Italian rail tool gives you access to the same discounts Trenitalia offers on Italy train tickets, and you can use any credit card you like. Anywhere you see the ticket search box (shown at the top and bottom of this page, as well as other train travel pages on the site), you can plug in your travel information to see what your ticket options – and savings – are.

Here are the big benefits to booking your Italy train tickets through WhyGo Italy:

Big Ticket Discounts: Who doesn’t love saving money? Booking train tickets on WhyGo Italy means you’ll have access to all the discounts Trenitalia offers, often as much as 30% off the regular ticket price. The discount depends on what type of train you take, what your route is, and when you book your ticket.
No Lines: Vacations are no time to wait in long lines, especially when you can avoid it. Book your tickets and reservations before you leave home and you don’t have to wait in the train station ticket lines – an especially nice perk in the high season when those lines can be daunting.
No Shipping Fees & Time: Rather than needing to buy tickets weeks in advance so they can be shipped to you, these Italy rail tickets are e-tickets. You’ll get a confirmation number and instructions via email as soon as you purchase your tickets or reservations. (Read more about how the e-tickets work below.)
No Credit Card Restrictions: Trenitalia’s site is getting to be more user-friendly than it used to be, but although they’ve made some recent improvements there’s still no guarantee that you’ll be able to use your non-Italian credit card on their site. Some people have been lucky, but it’s arbitrary – and it’s largely in Italian. With WhyGo Italy, you can use any credit card – and the transactions are all in English.
Tickets or Reservations: If you only need train tickets, you can buy just tickets. If you’ve already got an Italy Rail Pass – which is the same as a ticket – and only need reservations for some train trips, you can buy reservations alone. You have the flexibility to buy exactly what you need.
Transactions in U.S. Dollars: While this benefit only applies to our customers in the United States, that’s a big enough portion of our readers that we felt it was a benefit worth mentioning. Because the transactions on WhyGo Italy are in U.S. dollars, that means no euro/dollar exchange or transaction fees – which can add up to quite a bit of savings.

We’re very excited about this new opportunity for WhyGo Italy readers to get a better deal on Italy train tickets, not to mention avoid ticket lines at the station, and we hope you find this Italian rail tool useful!
How do these e-tickets work?

The tickets you’ll buy using the service on WhyGo Italy are e-tickets, which means you don’t have to wait to have them shipped to you or pay for said shipping. You print the ticket information, received via email just after you buy your tickets, which means you can buy them right before you leave for Italy.

These e-tickets will have what’s called a PNR, which is a booking confirmation number. The PNR includes all the specifics of the tickets/reservations you booked – date and time of the trip, number of people traveling, etc. You may be able to board the train with only the PNR number, or you may need to print a ticket at a self-service machine in the station before you get on the train – this information will be in the email confirmation you receive, so you’ll know what you need to do long before you get to the station.

Note that if your train trip starts somewhere outside Italy and you’re traveling into Italy – from Paris to Rome, for instance – you won’t be able to use e-tickets alone. Printed tickets will be mailed to you for trips starting outside Italy

Ovarian Cancer is the fifth most common cancer in women. Although it is technically classed as a rare cancer, it still affects around 6,700 women each year in the UK. Risk varies from woman to woman and depends on how old you are, your genes and your lifestyle. According to charity Target Ovarian Cancer, a woman has a one in 50 chance of developing the disease over her lifetime. But the risk rises as you get older, with four in five cases occurring after the age of 50.

What are the Signs and Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer?

Ovarian cancer symptoms are not specific to the disease, and they often mimic those of many other more-common conditions, including digestive and bladder problems. When ovarian cancer symptoms are present, they tend to be persistent and worsen with time. Signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer may include:

*Abdominal pressure, fullness, swelling or bloating
*Pelvic discomfort or pain
*Persistent indigestion, gas or nausea
*Changes in bowel habits, such as constipation
*Changes in bladder habits, including a frequent need to urinate
*Loss of appetite or quickly feeling full
*Increased abdominal girth or clothes fitting tighter around your waist
*A persistent lack of energy
*Low back pain

If you have signs and symptoms that worry you make an appointment with your doctor, especially if you have a family history of ovarian cancer or breast cancer. In some cases, your doctor may refer you to a genetic counselor to discuss testing for certain gene mutations that increase your risk of breast and ovarian cancers.

Great news for fans of reality TV: CBS has announced that it has renewed its Sunday night duo of 'The Amazing Race' and 'Undercover Boss.'

Both shows held their own against NBC's 'Sunday Night Football' during the fall and according to TVGuide.com they will most likely remain where they are in the schedule.

'The Amazing Race' averaged 12 million viewers last fall, and its ratings in the coveted adults aged 18-49 demographic went up by 3 percent despite the competition from football. 'Undercover Boss' has also performed strongly, with an average of 12.3 million viewers and solid ratings.

The renewals mean that 'The Amazing Race,' which launched in 2001 and is executive-produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Bertram van Munster, Jonathan Littman, Elise Doganieri and Mark Vertullo, will return for its 19th season. Fan favorite Phil Keoghan hosts the show, in which teams of two take part in a race around the world in a bid to win the prize of $1 million.

Part travelogue, part endurance test, 'The Amazing Race' has spawned several versions in other countries, though none so far have been as successful as the original. 'TAR' won seven consecutive Emmys for "Outstanding Reality-Competition Program" and seemed unstoppable in the category until this year, when the Emmy went to Bravo's 'Top Chef' instead.

By contrast, relative newbie 'Undercover Boss,' which is executive-produced by Stephen Lambert, Eli Holzman and Chris Carlson, will return for its third season. A spin-off from the U.K. hit show of the same name, it premiered in the U.S. after Super Bowl XLIV in 2010, and the first episode was watched by over 38 million viewers.

The format of 'Undercover Boss' is based on a senior executive working incognito in their own company to investigate how it really works and identify how it can be improved, as well as rewarding the hard-working staff. Companies featured in previous episodes include Subway, Frontier Airlines and Hooters.

'The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business' airs Sundays, 8PM ET on CBS.
'Undercover Boss' airs Sundays, 9PM ET on CBS.

Politico has a story up about Media Matters that shows just how illegitimate, how low down, how filled with vitriol and hate its efforts to push George Sorros’ left-wing agenda is. Media Matters, you see, has quietly revamped its operations to go from mere media criticism to outright enemy and saboteur of Fox News. They are even going to far as to research the lives and financial holdings of even the lowliest Fox employees in order to “sabotage” Fox and to blackmail employees.

Ben Smith recalls that Media Matters, a left-wing blog funded to the tune of $10 million a year by folks like billionaire financier George Soros, originally started its life on the Internet as the sort of media opposition to right of center blogs, talk radio hosts, and TV newsers like Fox News. But Smith reports that Media Matters is now retrenching and starting a new direction: saboteur of Fox News.

I don’t say “saboteur” in hyperbole, either. Media Matters founder David Brock himself casts Media Matters’ new role as the official saboteur of Fox.

The liberal group Media Matters has quietly transformed itself in preparation for what its founder, David Brock, described in an interview as an all-out campaign of “guerrilla warfare and sabotage” aimed at the Fox News Channel.

Brock calls his new direction a “war on Fox.”

Media Matters is even going so far as to get as much dirt as it can on individual Fox News employees (not just top execs, but everyone they can find information on).

“We made a list of every single person who works for Fox and tried to figure out who might be disgruntled and why, and we went out to try to meet them,” he said. “Clearly, somebody in that organization is giving us primary source documents.”

Along with attacking individual employees, Media Matters is looking to enlist the aid of regulators and government both here and a broad to attack the network. “The group hired an executive from MoveOn.org,” Smith reports “to work on developing campaigns among News Corp. shareholders and also is looking for ways to turn regulators in the U.S., U.K., and elsewhere against the network.”

Media Matters also intends to go after Rupert Murdoch’s personal commercial interests outside of Fox News.

In other words, Media Matters is treating Fox as a political organization and not a media conglomerate. “Fox News is not a news organization. It is the de facto leader of the GOP,” MMfA’s Brock told Politico.

But this is obviously an illicit campaign. Fox is clearly not some sort of arm of the Republican Party. Does Fox have a leaning toward the GOP and/or the conservative side of the issue? Sure, without a doubt. But it is still a media organization separate and distinct from political organizations. Fox News is no adjunct of the GOP any more than NBC, CBS, ABC, or even MSNBC are somehow arms of the Democrat Party.

Media Matters is no longer even pretending to be interested in journalism. In fact, it is approaching illegal activities with this campaign. Certainly Media Matters is lapsing into immoral activities if nothing else.

But this is the left, folks. This is the hatred and the attack dog-style that the left specializes in.

Media Matters was once a perfectly legitimate, though left-wing media critic. Now it is a gutter sniping, mud slinging, dumpster diving, blackmailing, saboteur. I’d call it the National Enquirer of the Internet, but even that isn’t mean enough to describe MM.

More like Media Matters has become the KGB of the left.

Later this week, we’ll be celebrating April Fool’s Day 2011, and so you can expect some celebrity pranks for sure!

The first recorded incident of April 1st and foolery is in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, however, just where the origin of the holiday comes from is really unknown. April Fool’s Day is simple enough for all of us to participate in – play a fun prank or two on friends or family.

Celebs are always full of mischief and looking for fun – here are some really funny celeb pranks that have taken place over the past years. Enjoy!

Do you ever watch the TV show The Soup? Host Joel McHale is continuously mocking American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest as part of his comedy show. As reported by The Examiner, Last April Fool’s Day, McHale somehow managed to shut down RyanSeacrest.com and hacked into Ryan Seacrest’s Twitter account! He even replaced Ryan’s photos to ones of himself and tweeted, “Anyone know how to bake cookies?”

Last year there was another April Fool’s Day prank on Twitter. Singer Joe Jonas decide to fake out his fans by saying that he broke his leg.

Justin Bieber also joined in on pranks last April 1st. On the very funny website Funny or Die, a message was posted that said: ”Justin Bieber has decided to buy Funny or Die and do with it whatever his tiny little heart desires.” A video clip featuring Bieber shows the singer saying, “I’m a star. I do what stars do. I ride on yachts. I autograph lady lumps. And I pay people to slap them.”

Looking for a good fight? Back in 2006 Tom Arnold appeared on the popular TV show The Best Damn Sports Show, and faked a fight with sports legend Michael Strahan. Strahan started the “fight” by wrestling with Arnold…who then tackled Strahan to the ground. Strahan screamed out in pain and clutched his shoulder. The cast members weren’t even in on the prank, and they tried to stop it! Even the media didn’t know it was a prank and were reporting it as news!

Popular Los Angeles radio station KROQ, an alternative music station, has in the past celebrated April Fool’s Day by playing pop music throughout the day…leaving fans not too happy!

What is the best April Fool’s Day prank you have ever pulled or witnessed?

Kinky Russian spy Anna Chapman is launching an American style reality show in Russia that is all about uncovering secrets, but not the kind that made her infamous for spying on the United States.

Chapman, 28, who has become a sex symbol in her home country because of her James Bond style espionage and the release of kinky nude photos on the Internet, will used her undercover skills to explore the occult.

The new television show debuted Friday on Russian television, making Chapman Russia’s hottest media commodity.

She obviously plays off her American experience, but makes no specific references to her life as a deep-cover mole.

Russian spy Anna Chapman debuts on television

“We don’t talk about the situation that made Anna famous. We understand that her activities were in the interests of the state,” REN-TV’s documentary series head Mikhail Tukmachyov told reporters.

The Russian government has been more than willing to accommodate Chapman’s celebrity, despite the fact that she and her group of spies were arrested without ever coming close to uncovering state secrets.

Instead, they came off as bumbling amateurs. But in Russia she’s played heavily off of James Bond in a photo shoot for the Russian edition of Maxim magazine.

In her show, she used her celebrity status to gain access to the family of a child from a rural Russian province to examine how Arabic writing mysteriously appeared on the boy’s body.

“My sources in Dagestan tell me that the Yakubovs fear for their lives,” and that they had previously denied reporters access. “I talked them into it,” she told the cameras, according to the AP.

Lacey Schwimmer and Mike Catherwood might've had the lowest-rated dance on Monday's season premiere of 'Dancing with the Stars,' but their sexual chemistry heated up TV screens so much that ABC is reportedly worried.

"The network [ABC] asked them to tone down the sexual undertones," a source told RadarOnline.com. "They know there is a spark there -- everyone is talking about their amazing chemistry."

"They basically told them to cool it with the sexual tension," the source continued. "But they both just laughed about it."

"Psycho" Mike, real name Michael Catherwood, has been paired with Schwimmer, who is the professional dancer among the two. Season 12 will be her fifth season on the hit show. She previously competed on 'So You Think You Can Dance.'

The couple scored the lowest points with their fox trot on the inaugural edition of the latest season of 'Dancing,' but this did not stop the couple from sharing their feelings for each other.

Mike reportedly joked that the best part about the routine was "grabbing her butt." And Schwimmer even said, "We would make a great couple," while admitting to having seen "every part of his body."

While Mike does have a girlfriend, the source told Radar that the relationship is "on the rocks."

Natalie Portman won an Oscar for role in Black Swan, but now the star's body double is claiming the actress was featured in the film far less than has been advertised.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Sarah Lane - an American Ballet Theatre soloist who perfected many of the movie's complicated dance sequences - said: “Of the full body shots, I would say 5 percent are Natalie. All the other shots are me.”

Lane spoke out in response to comments a couple days earlier by Portman's fiance, choreographer Benjamin Millepied. He told the L.A. Times that "85 percent of that movie is Natalie.”

However, Lane says that only applies to shots which are "just her face with arms... that doesn’t show the actual dancing.”

Saying she's the victim of a "cover up," Lane adds that Black Swan producer Ari Handel told her to remain quiet about these facts, yet she's going on record now because "it is demeaning to the profession... I’ve been doing this for 22 years... Can you become a concert pianist in a year and a half, even if you’re a movie star?”

UPDATE: The filmmakers have released a statement that reads:

“We were fortunate to have Sarah there to cover the more complicated dance sequences and we have nothing but praise for the hard work she did. However, Natalie herself did most of the dancing featured in the final film.”

On tonight’s episode of The Celebrity Apprentice, where Dionne Warwick was fired and then called NeNe Leakes a coward, the teams had to create commericials for the ACN video phone.

But, this wasn’t the first time that there has been an ACN challenge on The Celebrity Apprentice.

The March 22, 2009 Celebrity Apprentice Challenge was an ACN one. Last year, the celebrities had to help launch the ACN video phone, instead of just making a commercial for it like they had to do on tonight’s episode.

ACN has the personal endorsement of Donald Trump. Maybe we’ll see another ACN challenge on a later Celebrity Apprentice.

The Daily Planet has its ace reporter, and Clark Kent has his love interest. Amy Adams has been cast as Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's upcoming 'Superman' reboot.

The director confirmed that Adams had the role to the Los Angeles Times, saying that he reached out to her by phone while in Paris on Sunday.

"There was a big, giant search for Lois," Snyder told the paper. "For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it."

Adams is certainly in demand in Hollywood; she's coming off her third Oscar nomination, for her role in "The Fighter," opposite Mark Wahlberg, and is headlining "The Muppets" movie later in 2011. She's also in talks to join the star-studded film adaptation of the musical "Rock of Ages," which already features Tom Cruise and Alec Baldwin, among others.

Adams joins a cast that includes Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Kevin Costner as Pa Kent.

While he wouldn't comment on the plot, Snyder did imply that Lane would be important in the story:

"What’s important to us is making [Superman] relevant and real and making him empathetic to today’s audience so that we understand the decisions he makes. That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him [in tone and substance]," Snyder said.

Snyder did give some juicier details about the to the LA Times earlier in March, talking about his vision for the anticipated reboot.

"Literally, the one thing that everyone can start to think about is that we're making a movie that finally goes with the approach that there's been no other Superman movies," Snyder told the paper. "If you look at 'Batman Begins,' there's that structure: there's the canon that we know about and respect, but on other hand there's this approach that pre-supposes that there haven't been any other movies. In every aspect of design and of story, the whole thing is very much from that perspective of 'Respect the canon but don't be a slave to the movies.'"

In the Christopher Reeve-led film adaptations of the comic book, Margot Kidder took on the role of Lois Lane, while Kate Bosworth assumed the mantle in the 2006 film, "Superman Returns."

SAN ANTONIO — Move over, Butler. Virginia Commonwealth is crashing the Final Four.

Two weeks ago, the 11th-seeded Rams so doubted they would get a NCAA tournament invite that they watched Cartoon Network and went out for burgers instead of watching the selection show. Now, all of America will be watching them in the Final Four.

The 11th-seeded Rams are heading to Houston, and final No. 1 seed Kansas is heading home after the biggest March upset in years.

VCU stunned the Jayhawks 71-61 on Sunday, becoming just the third 11th seed to make the Final Four. The Jayhawks had been the last top seed standing, but what looked like an easy path to the final weekend ended in a stunning collapse.

Eighth-seeded Butler, you're promoted to a favorite next week. VCU is the trendy underdog pick this year.

"Once again we felt like nobody really thought we could win going into this game," said VCU coach Shaka Smart, the budding star of the tournament. "Our guys have done a phenomenal job of putting all the doubters aside, all the people that didn't believe in us, and going out to do their job."

VCU guard Joey Rodriguez counted one of Kansas' vaunted Morris twins – Marcus or Markieff – as one of those many doubters. During a pregame captains meeting with officials, Rodriguez said one of the brothers offered him some parting words: "The run ends here."

"We'll see," Rodriguez shot back.

The Jayhawks saw all right.

VCU players, hoisting their Southwest regional champion trophy, poured into the temporary bleachers where VCU's widely outnumbered fans sat in an Alamodome that was otherwise colored in Kansas blue and white.

VCU had sold out its allotment of 1,000 tickets in San Antonio after advancing farther than any Rams team in school history. The weekend before in Chicago, VCU had so many leftovers that Purdue fans scooped them up.

Jamie Skeen led VCU with 26 points, and as the final seconds ticked down, heaved the ball from the free throw line into the stands behind the opposite backboard. His teammates on the bench, who spent the final minutes with locked arms to hold each other back, finally spilled out onto the court, grinning ear to ear.

Kansas players walked slowly off the court. Several, including Markieff Morris, cried.

"Probably the best game they played ever," Markieff said. "Probably the best game ever as a school tonight. We let them. We let them beat us."

Smart was guided from one interview to another wearing the cut-down net around his neck. The cheers for VCU were only interrupted for guard Brandon Rozzell, who stood at midcourt as the crown serenaded him with an impromptu "Happy Birthday."

The celebration even carried to other arenas. In Newark, N.J., where Kentucky was playing North Carolina, the crowd erupted when the public address announcer broadcast the final score from Texas.

"Anything is possible," he told the arena.

It's George Mason all over again, and VCU had an even tougher Final Four path than their tiny conference brethren in 2006.

The Rams needed five wins to go from First Four to Final Four. Along the way, they toppled the Pac-10's Southern California, the Big East's Georgetown, the Big 10's Purdue, the ACC's Florida State and now the Big 12's Kansas.

They'll pick on someone their own size next: Butler.

The Jayhawks? All they did was bully smaller teams to get this far. Kansas never apologized for coasting through a favorable bracket that served up schools seeded 16th (Boston University), ninth (Illinois) and 12th (Richmond).

None of those games tested the Jayhawks, who had been ranked No. 1 this season and had won 11 in row. Then VCU came out and showed it wasn't just another pushover.

The Jayhawks spent the first half not knowing what hit them.

Kansas (36-3) hadn't trailed by more than two points the entire tournament. With five minutes left in the first half, the Jayhawks trailed by 17.

Marcus Morris had 20 points and 16 rebounds, and his brother had 13 and 12. They played in disbelief as VCU, which ousted Florida State on 3-pointers on Friday night, used the long ball to bury the Jayhawks early this time.

The Rams hit 9 of their 12 3-pointers in the first half. Kansas trailed 41-27 at halftime and closed the lead to 46-44 with 13:11 left, but a 10-2 VCU run put the Jayhawks right back where they started.

Smart, the 33-year-old whose enigmatic personality has made him a breakout star, was so animated shuffling in front of his bench that officials shooed him back. Another official later served Smart his first technical all season.

Smart said he used that moment as a motivator – though he had to clean up his language first.

"It was basically forget the refs, forget Kansas, this is all about us," Smart said. "We got to do what we got to do."

VCU (28-11) is the third 11th seed to crack the Final Four. The last was George Mason in 2006, when that Colonial Athletic Association school stunned Connecticut in its regional final. LSU made it in 1986.

The Rams' upset guaranteed a Final Four without a No. 1 seed.

Ohio State, Pittsburgh and Duke didn't even last to the regional finals. Two traditional basketball powers, Arizona and Kentucky, and defending runner-up Butler took care of that.

On Saturday, Smart quoted a line from "Dumb and Dumber" to explain how he felt about his team: "So you're saying we've got a chance?" A day later, he leaned on another old comedy to sum up the Ram's unlikely run.

"Ever seen the movie 'Major League?'" Skeen told reporters. "I can't say exactly what the guy says. But they get in some situations, and there's only one thing left to do.

"Win the whole blank thing."

The Virginia Commonwealth University Rams kept their “Cinderella” run alive, pulling neutralize the biggest upset of the NCAA Tournament so far with a 71-61 victory over No. 1 seed Kansas University imprint the Southwest Region Finals on March 27 in San Antonio.

The odds were stacked high against VCU (28-11) even approach the Elite 8 round, charter alone becoming just the inquiry No. 11 seed to name to the Final Four. But VCU leader break in Shaka Smart vocal his yoke believed all along that they had what valid takes to visit one of the top teams money the nation.

“I believe in these guys, and I’m proud of how resilient they are under pressure,” knowing said during a postgame interview. “I’m well-suited proud of our guys and everyone who did believe repercussion us.”

VCU dominated Kansas (35-3) lock up tops outside shooting, just as they’ve done against every otherwise opponent they’ve faced fame March.

VCU one’s all their way to a 14-point lead at halftime, but Kansas high up their defensive pressure in the second half, closing the commence to just two points with less than six minutes remaining. But VCU kept its touch from the facade and eventually pulled these days to adjust their trip to the Final Four latitude they’ll face No. 8 ranked Butler, the winner of the Southeast Finals.

Alright race fans, the first practice session is in the bag, with McLaren on top. There's a slight chance of rain for qualifying, but we're in for a dry race. Besides the rule changes, there have been a shuffling of a few drivers too. To help make sense of it all, here's a rundown of the 2011 grid.

The Contenders:

RedBull.jpg

Red Bull Racing - Renault
There are two Red Bull teams, this is the primary one. As the name suggests, these cars are powered by Renault engines. This team took the 2010 Contructor's Championship, winning nine out of nineteen races and scoring 498 points, but it certainly wasn't easy. Besides some mechanical issues, a fierce rivalry broke out between their drivers, which caused a few errors between the teammates. Expect this rivalry to continue for 2011.

Sebastian Vettel (Germany) - He's the returning champion that grabbed five wins and 256 points in the 2010 season. At 23 years old, he has a long and promising career in front of him, but some errors and judgment last season also highlighted his lack of experience. He is currently the youngest driver to ever start and score a point in an F1 race (he was 19 when he filled-in for an injured driver at the 2007 Canadian GP).

Mark Webber (Australia) - In the 2010 season, Webber won four races and scored a total of 242 points. He was fighting for the championship all the way up to the end despite a terrifying crash at the race in Valencia where he ran over the back wheels of a slower car and was launched skyward, flipping backwards, landing upside-down, rolled back over and slid into the tire barrier. Luckily, he escaped with only minor injuries. He's known to have the "widest car" on the grid, meaning, he's very difficult to pass.

Mclaren.jpg

McLaren-Mercedes
Besides competing (and sometimes dominating) in F1, McLaren has also made a name for itself at the Indy 500 and in Can-Am racing. There are also a few supercars that wore the McLaren badge, maybe you've heard of them. The team debuted in 1966 and has won eight Constructor's Championships and 12 Driver's Championships since then. The team finished in second place, with five wins and 454 points. The current drivers have one of the more harmonious relationships on the grid -- stark contrast to the days of Senna and Prost.

Lewis Hamilton (England) - Lewis Hamilton has been tied to the McLaren team since the age of ten. As part of the team's Young Driver Support Program, Hamilton rose through the ranks of European formula racing until his F1 debut in 2007. When he passed a slower car in the last turn of the last lap of the last race of the 2008 season, he clinched the Driver's Championship, becoming the youngest titleholder at only 23 years old. He held that distinction until Vettel took the 2010 Championship.

Jenson Button (England) - Button started his career with plenty of fanfare and high expectations in 2000. A series of unfortunate team choices and bad luck kept him out of the running until his first win in 2006, but even that victory was partially attributed to luck. Good luck shone on Button in the 2009 season, when he took the newly formed Brawn GP car to six victories and the Driver's Championship.

Ferrari.jpg

Ferrari
No mention of Formula One is complete without including the Ferrari name. Since the team's debut in 1950, the Scuderia has won 16 Constructor's and 15 Driver's Championships - more than any other team in history. Ferrari's determination to winning has not been without some controversy, with many accusing F1's governing body with favoritism. Whether or not you choose to believe the accusations, it's hard to argue that Ferrari is anything but passionate and focused on dominating the sport.

Fernando Alonso (Spain) - Alonso is one of the most talented racers in the field with some of the richest resources at his disposal. As a two-time champion (back-to-back, no less), he is as calculating as he is aggressive. Like the team he represents, his career is not without some controversy. With rather strong rumors of blackmail and devious maneuvers in the pits and off the track, Alonso is one of the more polarizing characters in F1.

Felipe Massa (Brazil) - Massa's not a contender for the championship, though it doesn't hurt that he drives a championship-worthy car. Massa almost won the 2008 championship until Hamilton pipped him (see above), but hasn't been as competitive since. In 2009 he was struck in the helmet by an errant suspension spring while on a high-speed section of the Hungarian GP and plowed into the tire barrier. Massa was in critical condition initially and later received a titanium plate on his skull. His bravery is undeniable, but it's unlikely he'll be battling Alonso wheel-to-wheel.

The Rest of the Field:

Mercedes.jpg

Mercedes GP - This is the official Mercedes-Benz team, which was formerly the Brawn GP team, which was formerly the Honda F1 team. Last year, after three years in retirement, seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher (Germany) returned to race with his former technical director Ross Brawn who were part of the Ferrari "dream team" that dominated F1 for the better part of a decade. Schumacher never quite got the hang of the 2010 Mercedes, but that should all change now that he has been integral to developing the 2011 car. Schumacher is joined by Nico Rosberg (Germany), son of 1982 F1 champ Keke Rosberg. Youth and skill vs. age and treachery? You betcha.

lotus.jpg

Lotus Renault GP - Things get complicated here. There are two teams featuring the Lotus name, with this one aligned more with the actual Lotus car company and storied F1 team. It was formerly the Renault factory team, but the company has scaled back its racing involvement to be more of an engine supplier. The original lineup was supposed to be Robert Kubica (Poland) and Vitaly Petrov (Russia), but an off-season rally racing crash nearly killed Kubica. Nick Heidfeld (Germany) stepped in to Kubica's spot.

williams.jpg

AT&T Williams - Williams was once a contender for the crown, but has fallen down the standings over the last couple of seasons. F1 veteran Rubens Barrichello (Brazil) and newcomer Pastor Maldonado (Venezuela) will be piloting the Cosworth-powered Williams, but probably not at the front of the pack.

forceindia.jpg

Force India - This team, backed by Indian businessman Vijay Mallya, has shown a glimmer of promise in the 2010 season. Lead driver Adrian Sutil (Germany) has been in F1 since 2007 and is joined by rookie Paul di Resta (Scotland) who is the current German Touring Car champion. Di Resta is also the cousin of IRL racer Dario Franchitti.

sauber.jpg

Sauber - This team has been competing in F1 since 1993 but has only one win to its credit (2008 Canadian GP piloted by Kubica). Plagued by many race retirements in 2010, we don't expect Sauber to be much of a challenger this year, even if they are powered by a Ferrari engine. Driving duties go to relative newcomer Kamui Kobayashi (Japan) and Sergio Perez (Mexico), both of which came from the GP2 support series.

tororosso.jpg

Scuderia Toro Rosso - With a name like this, you know there's some Italian blood in there. This is the Red Bull junior team and they're powered by Ferrari. The team debuted in 2006 and has one win to its name, thanks to Sebastian Vettel in 2008. It's been pretty much downhill since then. Sebastian Buemi (Switzerland) and Jaime Alguersuari (Spain) are the drivers.

teamlotus.jpg

Team Lotus - This is a Lotus team in name only. In a roundabout way of acquiring the Lotus name for the 2010 season, this squad was embroiled in a dispute over these rights in the off season. It's a pretty car, but that's about it, as many of the top teams call the Team Lotus cars "moving chicanes." Veteran Jarno Trulli (Italy) and Heikki Kovalainen (Finland) will likely be bringing up the rear.

HRT.jpg

HRT - Hispania Racing Team, that is. F1 is an expensive sport and HRT is short on cash. That translates to also-ran drivers and relatively slow cars. Drivers Narain Karthikeyan (India) and Vitantonio Liuzzi (Italy) both have reputations as backmarkers, so expect them to be lapped quite often.

virgin.jpg

Marussia Virgin Racing - There's a joke in here somewhere, but we won't go there. Uber-cool rich dude Richard Branson tossed in a bucketload of cash, but even that's not enough to give this team any credence. If drivers Timo Glock (Germany) or Jerome d'Ambrosio (Belgium) even manage to finish a race, it'll probably be a few laps down on the leaders.

Like many others, I was shocked when I heard that Geraldine Ferraro died today. She was a key figure in the political world, but more than that, she was a beloved mother, involved teacher, lawyer, politician, and journalist. I hadn’t known she had been suffering from multiple myeloma for the past twelve years. Also, like many others, I Googled the disease to see exactly what it is.

Multiple myeloma is an incurable blood cancer. Specifically, it is cancer of the plasma cells in bone marrow.

In multiple myeloma, plasma cells grow out of control in the bone marrow and form tumors in the areas of solid bone. The growth of these bone tumors makes it harder for the bone marrow to make red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. This causes anemia, which makes a person more likely to get infections and have abnormal bleeding. As the cancer cells grow in the bone marrow, they can cause pain and destruction of the bones. If the bones in the spine are affected, it can put pressure on the nerves, resulting in numbness or paralysis.

While multiple myeloma mainly affects older adults, a history of radiation therapy raises the risk for this type of cancer.

Symptoms of the disease include bleeding problems, bone or back pain, most often in the ribs or back, fevers without any other cause, increased susceptibility to infection, symptoms of anemia (such as tiredness, shortness of breath, and fatigue), unexplained fractures, and weakness of the arms or legs.

People who have mild disease are typically carefully watched without treatment. Some people have a slow-developing form of multiple myeloma that takes years to cause symptoms.

The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) put out a statement after news of Ferraro’s death:

“Geraldine Ferraro was a true trailblazer, an inspiration to many, an incredible advocate for cancer research, and a very dear friend. She will be sadly missed, never far from our hearts, and fondly remembered for her incredible legacy and the extraordinary woman who she was. We pray that her family finds comfort and peace during this sorrowful time,” said Kathy Giusti, Founder and CEO of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, and a patient with multiple myeloma.

In addition to serving on the MMRF’s Honorary Board of Directors, Ferraro was actively involved in the Foundation’s work to bring new treatments to patients. In 2002, she passionately testified before Congress for the critical need for increased research funding, and a year later, a bill was signed authorizing $250 million for blood cancer research. Congress then appropriated $5 million to the Geraldine Ferraro Blood Cancer Education Program in 2003 and renewed funding in 2006, enabling the MMRF to provide high-quality educational programs to underserved populations.

The five-year relative survival rate for multiple myeloma is currently about 38 percent, which is one of the lowest of all cancers. Last year, more than 20,000 adults in the United States were diagnosed with multiple myeloma and nearly 11,000 people are predicted to die from the disease

More than 1,900 specimens of ferns and orchids that grow in Indiana can now be seen and studied online, thanks to an $8,000 grant Butler University received from the Indiana State Library.

The digital images, along with specific information on each plant, are available here. The plants are part of the collection in Butler’s Friesner Herbarium, which houses specimens from more than 43,000 Indiana plants as well as 55,000 samples from elsewhere. (Herbaria are systemic collections of pressed and dried plants with labels that document who collected them, when, and where. The focus of the Friesner Herbarium is plants that grow outside of cultivation.)

The University will publicly unveil the project at 3 p.m. Aug. 18 at Irwin Library. The event is free and open to the public.

“The idea is that hopefully, having this information available will make more people aware of the collection and its historical value,” said Rebecca Dolan, director of the Friesner Herbarium. “And as people are interested in the history of a county, they can look back at our records. Many of our specimens were collected in the 1920s, ’30s and ’40s, before there was a lot of development in most of the state.”

Digitizing the first 1,900 specimens began a year ago as a joint project between the Herbarium and the Irwin Library. Lewis Miller, dean of the libraries, was the principal investigator on the grant. Butler partnered with IUPUI’s library to photograph the plants, then linked the images with data from each specimen. Irwin Library Catalog Librarian Janice Gustaferro entered the pictures and information into a searchable database.

Dolan said the process went so well that a second grant – this time $20,000 – will enable the University to digitize another 6,400 specimens from the sunflower/daisy family.

“The ultimate goal would be to get all 43,000 Indiana specimens digitized so people don’t have to come here to see the specimens,” she said.

The herbarium’s collection is kept in folders inside lockers that protect the specimens from light, water and insects. Dolan said the plants are useful in a variety of ways – for professional botanists interested in species distributions; for students and teachers studying Indiana natural history; for people trying to establish historical landscapes; for people interested in the spread of non-native plants.

The project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Indiana State Library.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 123,000 libraries and 17,500 museums. Its mission is to grow and sustain a “nation of learners,” because lifelong learning is essential to a democratic society and individual success. Through its grant making, convenings, research and publications, the institute empowers museums and libraries nationwide to provide leadership and services to enhance learning in families and communities, sustain cultural heritage, build 21st century skills and increase civic participation. ANAHEIM, Calif. — Jim Calhoun could scarcely watch when the most improbable postseason run of his coaching life at Connecticut came down to an open 3-point attempt by Arizona's Jamelle Horne.

The shot clanged off the back rim. The clock hit zeros.

Nine victories in just 19 days. Calhoun has seen just about everything, but nothing like this – and now his Huskies will keep running all the way to Houston.

Kemba Walker scored 20 points, freshman Jeremy Lamb added 19 and UConn earned its second Final Four berth in three years, beating Arizona 65-63 Saturday to win the West regional.

After missing the NCAA tournament entirely last year, Calhoun's tireless team is headed to the Huskies' fourth Final Four, punctuated by an ebullient on-court celebration in a building packed with Arizona fans.

UConn simply hasn't lost since a .500 Big East regular season, winning five games in five days at the conference tournament before this NCAA run. Walker claims he isn't surprised by this sprint through the postseason, while Lamb has nothing to compare it to, leaving Calhoun alone in his grateful disbelief.

"Never did I imagine a team winning nine games in tournament play in 19 days," Calhoun said. "These brothers, these young guys, have just given me a thrill beyond compare. Our march in the past nine games, I haven't experienced anything like this."

UConn also made the Final Four in 1999, 2004 and 2009 – all three times out of the West. In sweet redemption for a program and a veteran coach tarred by scandals over the past year, the Huskies will face the winner of North Carolina's East regional final against Kentucky next Saturday.

Derrick Williams and Horne missed go-ahead 3-pointers in the final seconds for Arizona, allowing the third-seeded Huskies (30-9) to hang on after Lamb scored six key points down the stretch when Walker encouraged the Huskies to run plays for the fearless frosh.

"This is no time to be tired," Walker said. "We're trying to get as far as possible. We want to win this whole thing."

Williams had 20 points while battling foul trouble for the fifth-seeded Wildcats (30-8), who led with 6 minutes to play. After Lamb pushed the Huskies ahead and Walker hit a jumper with 1:13 left, Lamont Jones and Horne then hit late 3-pointers for Arizona, but the Wildcats couldn't convert two good looks in the final seconds.

"The second one, I thought it was definitely going in," Lamb said. "When he missed it, I looked at the clock and saw zero-zero, and I just went, 'Whooooo.' It's the best feeling I've ever had."

The Huskies are the last team standing from the Big East's 11 NCAA entrants. After going 9-9 in regular-season conference play, they've done more than even Calhoun might have expected just three weeks ago.

After the Wildcats missed their final two shots, Walker and Calhoun wrapped each other in a bear hug at center court after the buzzer as Emeka Okafor, Jake Voskuhl and other UConn alums celebrated on the court.

The two-time national champion coach has referred to his group as "an old-fashioned team," a praise of their work ethic and resilience. But they also showed remarkable poise down the stretch in a building firmly in favor of the Wildcats.

A year after Arizona's 25-year streak of NCAA tournament appearances ended, the Wildcats and second-year coach Sean Miller were one 3-pointer away from a return to the Final Four. Williams demolished Duke in the regional semifinals with a career-high 32 points, but three early fouls limited him to 7 minutes in the first half against UConn.

"I've never been prouder of a team, and I've never seen a team come so far as we did in a short period of time," Miller said. "It will probably feel better in a few weeks than it does now."

Jesse Perry scored 14 points for Arizona, which trailed 34-25 early in the second half before scoring nine straight points. The Wildcats reclaimed the lead with 14 1/2 minutes left on Williams' layup, but UConn quickly scored seven consecutive points.

The Huskies led 50-41 until the Wildcats made a 12-2 run that included two rim-ripping dunks by Williams and the go-ahead slam by Perry with 7:17 left. With Honda Center rocking in Arizona red, Lamb smoothly put the Huskies ahead before following Alex Oriakhi's putback layup with a steal and a dunk with 3:08 left for a seven-point lead.

UConn just keeps rolling in what has shaped up as a magnificent season after last year's disappointing NIT trip. The Huskies roared through the league tournament with an unprecedented display of endurance at Madison Square Garden.

"I only feel tired after everything is over," Walker said. "When I'm playing, it's no problem. I'm good."

Walker kept up his incredible scoring pace in the tournament, dropping 33 points on Cincinnati before equaling the highest-scoring tourney game in UConn history with 36 against San Diego State in the regional semis.

Jones did a fairly decent job slowing Walker, his good friend since the sixth grade in New York City. They played together for two years at Harlem's Rice High School, although Walker claimed their history wouldn't give Jones an advantage in their first head-to-head meeting since their AAU days.

Good thing Walker had Lamb, the lanky shooter who betrayed no inkling of nerves in the biggest game of his life.

"I definitely expected to play in the NCAA tournament and have a chance at the Final Four when I chose UConn," Lamb said. "I just didn't know it would happen this fast."

Arizona won the Pac-10 regular-season title and made the top 10 for the first time in late February, but lost consecutive league games in Los Angeles before dropping the Pac-10 tourney finale to Washington on a buzzer-beater.

Last week, Arizona knocked off powerful Memphis and Texas before their 93-77 victory over the Blue Devils.

The West Coast crowd was solidly behind Arizona, with red-and-blue fans filling most of the lower bowl. Williams and the Wildcats repeatedly waved their arms before UConn's possessions, riling up the noisy crowd.

"For us to be one of the last teams standing, a lot of people want to be in our shoes," Jones said. "It's unfortunate that it has to end here, but the feeling of playing here is something you'll always remember."

The 1962 film the Manchurian Candidate is a certified classic. The political thriller was so good that it earned the best tribute it could get. A remake. In 2004, Denzel Washington took on the role originally played by Frank Sintra.

There was of course some updating in the remake, some new tweets, and lots of color. But the original black and white, still holds it own. So which one is better and what has been said in comparing the two films? Most film fans who were familiar with the original political thriller tend to side with the 1962 version. But under the direction of Johnathan Demme with a cast that included along side Denzel the likes of Meryl Streep and Liev Schreilber, they do a fabulous job. It’s a strong piece of cinema that comes as a fresher, bright version of the dark and foreboding original.

Which version do you prefer?

Entering this season, Billy King had a lot to be excited about as general manager of the New Jersey Nets. He has a deep-pocketed owner that's focused on winning, a head coach he believes in and a brand new Brooklyn arena set to open after next season. But once the Nets were able to acquire Deron Williams at the trade deadline, King had even more reason for optimism.

"I was optimistic at first because I just felt that what we were doing and where we were headed in the future was great," King told HOOPSWORLD. "But now having Deron, it helps because other people will see what we're doing. Having a great point guard means that a lot of people want to play with him. It's like having a great quarterback. If you have that great quarterback, it attracts the receivers and other players."

Eight months ago, the Nets couldn't have had a tougher time pitching New Jersey to players. The team was struggling and the franchise was in the midst of a transition period. Because of this, the Nets weren't able to sign any of the available stars. Now, with all of the pieces in place, King is confident that those days are over.

"The closer we get with the new building, the easier it is. Then having Deron, it becomes even easier. The pieces are falling into place. Last summer, when we went out to the free agent market, it was hard for those guys to really envision it. Mikhail [Prokhorov] was new as a owner, Rod [Thorn] was on his way out and Avery [Johnson] was new as our coach so I think there was a lot of uncertainty for a lot of those guys. Now, I think a lot of that uncertainty is gone. I'd say it is gone," King said.

It also helps when a player of Williams' caliber is leading the recruiting process.

"He's been in the league long enough so he knows a lot of people," King said. "He knows what we're trying to do and we've had some great meetings. I think people are asking him, 'What's it like?' I think players, for all thirty teams, are the best sellers."

The Nets have made huge strides, but King feels there is more work to be done. He feels that developing the team's young talent and adding the right players around Williams can take the team to the next level.

"A lot of it is just we're really young," King said. "A lot of these guys just need to continue to play and develop. Then we just need to continue to add the right pieces going forward that are going to fit with Avery's defensive philosophy as well as fit in with Deron, who can really push the ball up the court. I think we have to add the right pieces, and not always big name pieces, but just the right pieces."

But how does a general manager approach an offseason with so much uncertainty?

"I think you go through it in compartments," King said. "You do the draft and you deal with that. Then you wait and see what happens after that. You have to plan for July 1 because things can happen, but if there's a work stoppage, then you adjust and you wait for the new rules to come about."

Work stoppage or not, the toughest summer for the Nets is in the past. Now, King has all of the pieces to wheel and deal and transform the Nets into a contender.

Sullinger Returning to Ohio State: When Tristan Thompson and Jordan Hamilton told reporters that they were returning to Texas next season, very few decision makers around the league believed the duo. Both players had already expressed interest in leaving for the NBA, and it seemed that they were just trying to say the right thing on the eve of the tournament.

When Jared Sullinger spoke to reporters about his future following last night's loss to the Kentucky Wildcats, there was no such feeling. The comments were genuine and calculated.

"I'm going to be an Ohio State Buckeye next year," Sullinger told reporters. "Winning is that important to me. I don't like losing. This is not what I came here to do. This is not what I came here for, to sit here and see my seniors crying. I came here to win a national championship, to see them celebrate. I wanted tears of joy with these guys."

It's not uncommon for players to promise that they'll return after an emotional loss only to change their minds later when cooler heads prevail. Four years ago, Mike Conley Jr. told many of the same reporters that he would be back for a second season, but ultimately decided to enter his name in the draft anyway. Sullinger was given several chances to reconsider or back away from his promise, but he wouldn't take the bait.

"I'm a man of my word," Sullinger said. "I won't change my mind for nobody. This is what I want. This is where I'm happy. I'm happy being an Ohio State Buckeye and playing for Coach Matta."

Matta wasn't surprised at all by his star's announcement. Sullinger had been telling those close to him that he wanted to return for much of the season.

"He told me from day one he'd be back for two years," Matta said. "He said, 'Draw me up a contract, whatever you want me to do, I'll sign it.' With him, his freshman year was as good as I've ever seen a freshman have. I think all the things he learned this year, with a great off-season, I have no doubt he'll be the best player in college basketball."

This wasn't Sullinger simply trying to answer a question from a reporter or making a decision on the fly. This is what he had been planning all season long, which is why his announcement was much more believable and genuine than those of his peers.

News and Notes: Here are some items from this week's news and notes bin.

• Tennessee reached out to Xavier's Chris Mack this week and was prepared to offer the head coach an 8 year, $16 million contract. Mack wasn't interested, but the offer shows just how much money the Volunteers are willing to spend to get their man.

• Marcin Gortat had to leave last night's loss to the New Orleans in the third quarter after breaking his nose in a collision with teammate Steve Nash. Gortat had totaled 18 points, 10 rebounds and a block in 27 minutes before slamming his nose in the back of Nash's head. Gortat will undergo surgery to repair his nose this morning, and he's questionable for tomorrow's game against the Dallas Mavericks.

• Rashad McCants is averaging 10.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists as a reserve for the Dallas Mavericks' NBA Development League affiliate, the Texas Legends. But that doesn't matter because balling is just a hobby for McCants. The guard has started a rap career under the name "Suni Black," and his first song makes that very clear.
