New photo of Steve Jobs gives no clues to health
The health of Apple CEO Steve Jobs continues to exercise minds after the White House released a photo (above) of him sitting next to Barack Obama at a Silicon Valley dinner in California on Thursday.
'Kremlinologists' were most interested in the seating plan. The titans of tech in attendance included Twitter's CEO Dick Costolo, Google's Eric Schmidt and Cisco's John Chambers among others. Who would get to sit next to the President? The answer was Apple's Steve Jobs to the left and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg to his right.
Twenty-six-year-old Zuckerberg ditched his hoodie and jeans for the occasion, in favour of a starched white shirt and sensible suit; Jobs, 56 next week, doesn't change his trademark black polo for anyone.
'Apple-ologists' were more intent on figuring how Jobs looked, given that the dinner came a day after the National Enquirer published a series of photos (below) purportedly showing the Apple founder visiting the Stanford Cancer Centre, and looking painfully thin and frail.

However, the only photo taken at the dinner table on Thursday shows Jobs from behind, while a second photo, taken during pre-dinner drinks, shows the president chatting to Zuckerberg. Jobs is out of sight.
Coincidence? And why is Jobs the only man at the party not to lift his elbow off the table for the toast?
Yes, it could be because he's feeling weak, as bloggers are suggesting. But it could also be that the left-handed president has just shoved his elbow in Jobs's face in his eagerness to toast the cream of Silicon Valley - many of whom were donors to his campaign.
