Cemented in every man’s memory is a vision of Diora Baird falling on a mattress as part of the iconic montage in 2005’s Wedding Crashers. Six years later she seems to have broken free into more legit (read: non-bikini-oriented) roles, like in the upcoming Transit.
It’s been a while since the last time you were in Maxim. What have you been up to?
I just finished filming Transit in Baton Rouge. That was fun, but I don’t recommend Baton Rouge. I mean, we were shooting outside in the month of August, and my wardrobe of leather jackets and tight black pants…Well, let’s say we just had to try to embrace each other’s B.O.
How does it feel to play a more action-oriented part?
I definitely prefer to kick ass. I’ve done the victim thing a bunch. So far nobody’s been, like, Who the hell does she think she is? Put her back in a bikini! I keep asking, “When’s the scene where I have to rip off all my clothes?”
You do a bit of both in the video for the Black Keys’ “Howlin’ for You.”
It’s me getting to be my badass self. Guns, bras, ninja moves, and stilettos. Oh, and I’m Tricia Helfer’s sidekick. Need I say more?
What do your tattoos mean?
My only advice is don’t tattoo some guy’s name on yourself. Ever. I’ve done it twice. Twice! I'm in the process of getting both removed. It’s the most painful thing imaginable.
