David Archuleta Dropped By Record Label – American Idol Contestant
David Archuleta Dropped By Record Label. David Archuleta has been dropped by his label, Jive Records, on Thursday. Rumors that the American Idol season 7 runner-up began to spread Friday.
Archuleta, who appeared on season 7 of American Idol, was dropped by Jive Records. A spokesperson for the company has confirmed the news. In addition, the singer’s former manager also made a statement that the singer was cut.
The “Idol” singer released the album “The Other Side of Down” in 2010. It peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 album chart and sold 67,000 copies. Jive Records decided to drop Archuleta because of the poor sales.
The singer’s self-titled debut in 2008 sold 765,000 copies. In addition, his 2009 holiday album “Christmas from the Heart” sold 246,000. It is possible that he could be picked up by another label who’s willing to have the patience to turn his career around.
