Friday, May 4, 2012
Such is David Beckham's godlike status and all-round hotness that he'll be the first solo man EVER to grace the cover of Elle in the history of well, anything. So, let's kick the weekend off with a spot of behind-the-scenes action of Becks sans shirt at the photo shoot in LA.

Noel Gallagher: Tales From the Middle of Nowhere (Vol. 2): The Next One Was Fully Booked Leaving Me Stranded!
The next day I had a video shoot for my new single... I played the part of a slightly hungover grumpy northern taxi driver which is just as well as that's exactly what I felt like. I feel it's some of my best work and most definitely worthy of at least one Bafta. That actress Mischa Barton was in it too. Nice girl. City fan would you believe!?!?
Emma Sheppard: Cate Blanchett's Talent Makes Big and Small an Immeasurable Success
I have this terrible habit of booking tickets to plays that sound interesting then months later, moments before curtain up, I realise I haven't got a clue what the plot is and wonder if I'm going to be sat for three hours in the dark, literally and metaphorically. Jason Mraz: Global Warming Is No Longer a Future Problem, It's a Now Event
Global warming is no longer a future problem. It's a now event. And it's not a planet problem either. It's a people problem. The rate at which we consume energy through land clearing, factory farming, and the burning of fossil fuels oil and coal, is wreaking havoc on the atmosphere, contributing to the overall, exaggerated warming of the planet. Our very creation of an industrialised system to make our lives convenient and sweet succeeded in the sweetness, but sadly isn't sustainable. The proof is all around us. A billion people live without water. More than that live in extreme poverty. War hasn't found its resolve. And the seasons are only getting stranger.

Rick Mele: Are You Really Safe With Jason Statham?
Since Jason Statham's ends-justify-the-means methods often trend towards large-scale mayhem and wanton destruction, it got me thinking: Would you really be appreciably safer under Jason Statham's care? As a public service, we broke down who might want to seek out Statham's help, and who might want to seek cover.
