Hi, all! Madeleine here, with an update on Amazon's latest pot-stirring publishing move. The company has announced an exclusive deal with Pottermore, J.K. Rowling's company which recently released the Harry Potter series as e-books that are available to buy or check out from public libraries. Now the seven novels will be available in Amazon's Kindle Owner's Lending Library. But what's a deal without a catch? The lending library is only available to Amazon Prime members, who pay $79 per year for this and other perks. Also, only one book can be checked out each month, and perhaps strangest of all, some of the books in the library were placed there without publishers' permission. Is this an excellent, affordable option for readers or a bold move against traditional publishers? Read the story and let us know in the comments! Have a wonderful weekend, and happy reading!
